If your house was on fire, and everyone was safe, what would you grab?
We asked 100 people: "If your house was on fire, and everyone was safe, what would you grab?" Responses varied: some chose nothing, others valued irreplaceable items like photos, art, or books. Many mentioned technology, but few cared about easily replaceable consumer goods—revealing how disposable our possessions have become. This question goes beyond personal items; it’s about our relationship with consumption. In a society that takes, makes, and wastes, what truly matters? In the developed world, 20% of people consume 80% of the resources. If the world is burning, what choices do we make?
So, we leave you with this: What would you choose if your house was on fire, and what does that choice say about you?
